The NMEA-2-WIFI Interface provides a low cost method of setting up a wireless network (802.11 b/g) on board and to use available Apps on your iPhone, iPad or PC to display all your electronic data including position, AIS data, depth, wind, compass etc. Simple to set up, the NMEA-2-WIFI interface has 2 NMEA inputs which are multiplexed to a single high speed data output which transmits NMEA 0183 data over WIFI for viewing on a smart phone or tablet using suitable Apps or a PC Navigation program, and provides 2 way communication between the WiFi device and any suitable NMEA devices. With 2 inputs, it can accept NMEA 0183 data at 4800 from any GPS, Chart plotter or other navigation instruments, plus a 38,400 baud input from any AIS receiver or transponder, so you only need one unit to collect and transmit all the navigation data to your portable device over WiFi. For a vessel with a chart plotter at the nav station, using the Comar NMEA-2-WIFI, the helmsman can view all the navigation data on deck via an iPad or iPhone and for boats with the chart plotterat the helm you can check all the critical navigation data down below, making your boats data truly portable.

Dual Channel AIS Receiver: OVERVIEW

The AIS-3R is a high performance, dual channel AIS receiver, with outputs for both NMEA 0183 and USB. The AIS-3R reads and decodes all AIS messages that are specified and transmitted by AIS Class A and Class B tranponders, AIS SARTs and Aids to Navigation. The AIS targets together with all the static and dynamic information received can be displayed on any AIS compatible Chart Plotter or PC navigation program.

The unit can be operated in various modes to suit your particular application. If connected solely by a USB cable to a PC the unit is powered by the PC and data is transmitted via the USB cable providing a compact solution. Whilst powered by the USB, NMEA 0183 output is also available from the Power/Data port. NMEA 0183 Input from a GPS can also be connected via the Power / Data port which is multiplexed with the AIS data to provide postion information to the PC. Connecting the unit to external 12/24VDC will automatically power the device from the boats batteries and provide both USB and NMEA 0183 data.

Connected to a PC, via a serial port, running a compatible Navigation Program, or a dedicated Marine Chart Plotter, via the NMEA output, the information can be displayed on screen giving the operator a visual interpretation of the name, position, course and speed of AIS vessels within VHF range. OVERVIEW

The CSB200 is a low cost AIS Class ‘B’ Transponder, designed specifically for the small commercial boat, fishing boat and leisure markets. It meets the Class ‘B’ standard that allows vessels that are not required to fit Class ‘A’ units to voluntarily fit an AIS Transponder. The CSB200 is a compact self-contained unit which, when connected to an external VHF antenna and a GPS antenna, will transmit its own vessel position and data and also receive information from other AIS vessels, shore stations and navigational aids within VHF range. The unit is initially programmed by the user with the supplied program (PC). The vessel’s MMSI number, name, call sign, dimensions and type of vessel are entered at this stage. Once programmed, the unit will automatically receive and transmit AIS data. The CSB200 is compatible with a range of PC navigation programs and chart plotters that are capable of accepting NMEA 0183 AIS data sentences.

The CSD300 AIS Colour Display Receiver is designed for simple management, control and display of all AIS targets within VHF range. SLR200N Network AIS Receiver

Designed for the light commercial, fishing and coastal monitoring markets. All models employ Dual Channel Parallel synthesised receivers with simultaneous decoding of all AIS data received. Connected to a PC, via the industry standard RJ45 connector, the SLR 200N enables AIS data to be viewed directly or shared on a local network. The unit can also be mounted in a remote location and data pointed to a fixed IP address for use on a dedicated server. The included Device Installer software makes configuring the unit quick and easy. The Com Port Manager software enables the data to be displayed on standard AIS viewing programs.

THE SLR200N PROVIDES:

  • A low cost method of monitoring the position, speed and heading of other vessels within VHF range.
  • The ability to plot the progress, changes in heading and speed of other vessels on the screen of an onboard PC or Chart Plotter.
