How do I view AIS data on my computer?

If you would like to view the received AIS data with plotter-like software application we recommend the free and open source plotter software OpenCPN.

For viewing the raw data received from the receiver you can use any terminal program that streams serial data from a COM-port. As an example we can recommend the free terminal program PuTTY.

In both cases, when using a USB cable select the virtual COM-port that was installed when you first plugged in the receiver via USB. For the baud rate, please choose 38400.
