How do I reconfigure my R400N / R400NG after a factory reset?

If the R400N / R400NG has been reset to Factory Defaults (either using the hardware jumper-link or via the Restore to Factory Default Settings option in the web setup interface), the Password will be reset to the Unique Password for the device.

This password can be obtained from Comar Systems by providing the serial number and/or MAC address of the device.

However, resetting the device also restores other essential operating parameters to their default state.

To restore these settings and the Comar default password, the easiest method is to re-load the configuration file. This file can be obtained from Comar Systems.

Configuration Restore Procedure

  1. Log in to the device.
  2. Navigate to Administration > Backup/Restore.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Choose File.
  4. Select the configuration file provided by Comar Systems.
  5. Click Restore.
  6. When prompted, click Reboot.
  7. Wait 1 minute for the system to restart.
  8. The browser should automatically reload the login page.
    – If it does not, use DigiDiscovery software and click Refresh View to find the device again.
  9. Log in again using:
    • Username: root
    • Password: dbps

Verifying Configuration Settings

  1. Go to Configuration > Serial Ports > Basic Serial Settings.
  2. Confirm that the Baud Rate is set to 38400.
    – If the configuration was restored correctly, this setting should already be applied.
  3. The reset process is now complete.
  4. To configure the Ethernet connection (TCP/UDP, IP addresses, Port Numbers), go to:
Configuration > Serial Ports > Port Profile Settings.
